Artists Statement:
Dabbling is one thing; being an artist is something else again, and is a lifelong work in progress.
Regardless of the subject, medium or style, art is first, last, and always about feeling. Whether photo-realistic or minimalist, the end purpose of art is not just to communicate a visual image, but to evoke in the viewer what the artist feels.
The finished work rarely coincides perfectly with what the artist hopes at the outset it will look like. But, if it captures something of the feeling well enough for someone else to share it, they have succeeded.
